The latest registration number auction conducted by the Registration and Licensing Authority in Chandigarh witnessed an unprecedented response when the HR88B 8888 number attracted a bid crossing Rs 1.1 crore. The amount stunned officials and bidders alike since it far surpassed typical bids placed for premium numbers in the region.
The HR88B series was opened for public bidding and drew strong interest due to its combination of repeating digits which are considered highly auspicious among many buyers. Numbers ending in 8 or containing multiple 8s often command premium prices in auctions because they are associated with prosperity and good fortune.
