AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi Dies in Accidental Shooting Incident

In a tragic incident, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi passed away after accidentally shooting himself, sustaining a fatal head injury. The incident occurred around midnight, and he was declared dead upon arrival at DMC Hospital in Ludhiana, officials confirmed.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja stated, “As per family members, he accidentally shot himself, leading to bullet injuries to his head.” The body has been placed in the hospital mortuary, and further investigations are underway.

Authorities have emphasized that the exact cause of death will be determined following the post-mortem report. “The post-mortem findings will provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding his death,” the DCP added.

Gurpreet Gogi was a prominent figure in Ludhiana politics. He joined the AAP in 2022 and gained significant recognition after defeating two-time Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the Ludhiana Assembly elections.
