Fire Engulfs Lamborghini on Mumbai’s Coastal Road
A luxury Lamborghini caught fire on Mumbai’s Coastal Road late Wednesday night, prompting serious questions about vehicle safety standards. The incident occurred at around 10:20 PM, and a fire engine was dispatched promptly to extinguish the flames within 45 minutes. No injuries were reported, though details regarding the occupants and the cause of the blaze remain unclear.
Industrialist and car enthusiast Gautam Singhania, Chairman of Raymond Group, highlighted the incident on social media. Sharing a video of the burning vehicle, Singhania expressed concern over Lamborghini’s safety standards. “For the price and reputation, one expects uncompromising quality, not potential hazards,” he remarked.
Social media users weighed in, with one pointing to maintenance lapses among luxury car owners and another emphasizing the need for manufacturers to prioritize safety during design. The car, reportedly bearing a Gujarat registration, continued to smolder even 45 minutes after the fire was doused, as noted by onlookers.
This incident follows another controversy involving Lamborghini, where a vehicle faced total electrical failure and had to be towed, raising further doubts about the reliability of the brand.
While such incidents are rare, they underscore the importance of stringent safety measures and regular maintenance for high-performance vehicles, ensuring both reliability and customer trust.
